English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are available for non-native speakers who need to become proficient enough in English to pass state and citizenship exams and continue on with their education.
Step 1: Submit the following required documents & speak to an advisor:
- Court Order (age 16)
- School Withdrawal form (ages 16-18)
- Texas issued photo ID (ages 16-18)
- Social Security Card (ages 16-18)
- Student Interest Form (Online) or
In-Person in the Adult Education Department (ages 16+)
Step 2: Complete Adult Education Orientation
Date will be scheduled by the advisor.
8 a.m. – noon or 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Step 3: Take the TABE Clas-E test
Date will be scheduled by the advisor.
8:30 – 10:30 a.m., 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., or 6 – 8 p.m.
Step 4: Meet with an Advisor
Date will be scheduled by the advisor.
Anytime between 8 – 11 a.m. or 1 – 8 p.m.
