Victoria College Allied Health Continuing Education Director Shari Gould has been appointed to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s new Negotiated Rulemaking Committee on Workforce Continuing Education.
Gould was nominated for the position by Victoria College President Dr. David Hinds and VC Vice President of College Advancement and External Affairs Jennifer Yancey. Gould was notified by the THECB on Sept. 5 that she had been selected and received confirmation of her appointment on Sept. 22.
“I am deeply honored to have been nominated by Dr. Hinds and Jennifer Yancey,” Gould said. “I will endeavor to make them proud as a representative of Victoria College while serving as an appointed member of the rule-making committee.”
“We are proud to have Shari represent Victoria College on this committee,” Yancey said. “Dr. Hinds and I are excited to see what Shari and the rest of this new committee can accomplish to enhance the education and workforce training opportunities for Texas’ community college students.”
The Negotiated Rulemaking Committee on Workforce Continuing Education consists of 20 members from community colleges across Texas and was formed to reach a consensus on the language of proposed rules. The committee will meet quarterly.
